Deletion
Request deletion of your OurHolyLife account and personal data. We honour your privacy rights under India’s DPDP Act and California’s CCPA.
How to request deletion
There are two ways to request deletion of your OurHolyLife account. Both routes are free and result in the same outcome.
Open the OurHolyLife app → Settings → Privacy → Manage My Data → Delete my account.
Works on OurHolyLife, OurHolyLife Guide, and OurHolyLife for Churches.
Email our support team from your registered email address. We reply to every deletion request within 48 hours and complete the process within 30 days.

When your deletion request is processed, the following data is permanently removed from our systems and backups within 90 days:
- Account profile (name, email, phone number, profile picture, bio)
- Church membership records and roles
- Prayer requests you have created
- Private and group messages you have sent
- AI conversation history (Bible guidance, study reflections, verse cards)
- Bible reading progress, plans, and daily study completions
- Sermon drafts, notes, and AI-generated content (Church Admin)
- Session booking history with biblical guides
- Device identifiers, usage analytics, and authentication tokens
- Any BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) API keys you have configured
What we retain (and why)
A small set of records is retained for the minimum period required by law or financial regulation. These records are access-restricted, encrypted at rest, and never used for marketing.

Processing time
- Acknowledgement: within 48 hours of your request
- Account deactivation: within 7 days — your account becomes inaccessible
- Permanent deletion: within 90 days across all primary and backup systems
- Confirmation: we send a deletion-complete email once the process finishes
Content you’ve shared with others
Prayer requests and public posts you’ve shared with your church community are deleted from our servers. Copies that individual users may have saved to their own devices (e.g., screenshots) are outside of our control. Messages you’ve sent in private chats are deleted from your side; if the recipient has already downloaded them, that copy remains under their control.
Can I recover my account?
During the 7-day deactivation window you can cancel your deletion request by emailing [email protected]. After the 7-day window closes, deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. If you wish to use OurHolyLife again later, you’ll need to create a new account.
